Claudia Ottaviani

Claudia Ottaviani nasce a Roma nel 1986. Dopo il diploma in Ragioneria, decide di andare a vivere a Londra per colmare quella voglia di nuove esperienze di vita. Al ritorno, nel 2007 tenta la laurea in lingue orientali, ma scopre una forte passione per il tatuaggio ed abbandona tutto per dedicarsi esclusivamente alla ricerca ed alla pratica dell' "Arte sulla pelle".
Qui trova l'imbocco che la porterà ad assaporare il gusto del disegnare. Il tatuaggio diventa fulcro della sua vita, ma i limiti che quest'arte porta con se la spingono a cercare nove forme di espressione, totalmente personali ed interpretabili. Dopo due anni di apprendistato mette da parte tutto per affrontare un lungo viaggio in SUd America. Una volta tornata sembra aver trovato il modo di concretizzare, di mettere insieme le sue passioni e la sua voglia esprimersi. Si rilancia a pieno nel suo lavoro di tatuatrice, nasce così il suo percorso artistico, che si alterna tra la pelle e la carta. Un connubio importante per capire la sua arte. La forte influenza del tatuaggio la porta a creare uno stile molto personale, un incontro tra la tecnica dei tattooer e lo spirito dell'artista.
I suoi soggetti, elemento che la caratterizzano, sono la base di una riflessione molto interiore. Si parla di amore, si raccontano storie, trame di vita personale e quotidiana intrecciate con un ironico stile circense e zingaro. Hanno il sapore delle illustrazioni per bambini, dei vecchi libri di novelle, ma con un tocco ideologico molto contemporaneo. Davanti alle opere di Claudia, ognuno può trarne la propria storia, la propria fiaba. Il messaggio appare molto diretto, ma silenzioso, come se volessero sussurrare, parlare individualmente ad ogni interlocutore. Ciò che rende le sue bambole particolari sono i tatuaggi che portano addosso, gli abiti, oltre le parole ed i simboli che armonicamente ruotano intorno e si amalgamano nel complesso di ogni suo disegno. 
Le sue opere prendono forma e colore con le ecoline e penne grafiche, stessi strumenti per creare le tavole artistiche dei tatuaggi. 
Questi i fili conduttori dell'arte di una giovane artista, destinata ancora a crescere molto, ma che ha già cominciato a farsi notare nel panorama artistico romano.

Biography
Ottaviani Claudia was born in Rome in 1986. After graduating in Accountancy, she decides to go and live in London to fill her desire for new life experiences. Once back in Italy she starts to study Oriental languages, but discovering a passion for tattoos she abandons everything to devote herself exclusively to the research and the practice of the '"Art on the skin."
Tattooing becomes the center of her life, but the limitations that this art brings with it prompt her to look for new forms of expression, totally personal and interpretable. After two years as an apprentice sets aside everything for a long journey to South America. Once back she seems to have found a way to combine her passion and the way to express herself. She restarts to work as a tattoo artist and this is also the beginning of her artistic career which alternates between the skin and paper. This mix is important to understand her art. The strong influence of tattooing helps her to create a very personal style, a mix of the technique of the tattooist and the spirit of the artist.
Her subjects have born from a very internal reflection. They tell stories, speak of love, talk about everyday life with an ironic circus and a gypsy style. They have the taste of illustrations for children, of old tales, but with contemporary ideological touch. Standing in front of Claudia’s works, everybody can draw their own story, their own fairy tale. The message is very direct, but quiet, as if to whisper, to speak individually to each one of us. What make her dolls special are the clothing, the tattoos, as well as the words and symbols that revolve around and blend harmoniously in all her works.
Her works take shape and color with ECOLINE pens and graphics tools the same ones she uses to create her artistic tattoos.
These are the main themes of the art of this young artist, yet destined to grow much, but that has already begun to be noticed in the Roman art scene.
